Our Journey at SabahTravel.com

Introducing SabahTravel.com, Sabah's very first B2B2C multi-tour operator platform, that focuses on providing Sabah tour and service operators exposure to the global market. SabahTravel.com is founded by Kenji Yeo, a locally born Sabahan, who has been active in the Sabah Tourism industry for the past 10 years. To understand more about SabahTravel.com, let's take a look at the journey, vision and team behind this platform.

SabahTravel.com at a Glance

SabahTravel.com is a B2B2C online digital travel booking platform, first of its kind in Malaysia, that provides instant access to all Sabah’s licensed local tour operators. Our aim is to bring together local tours, activities, accommodation and transport providers onto one single platform, allowing better exposure of Sabah’s beauty to worldwide travellers. Tourists will then be able to book with multiple tour operators and service providers in a single booking, anytime and anywhere . By simplifying the booking experience, this makes it easier for tourists to choose Sabah as a travel destination.

Our Journey

The concept of Sabahtravel.com was created in 2014, by the founder, Kenji Yeo, a true Sabahan with over 10 years of tourism experience. He had always found it a challenge to know what are all the available tourism products in Sabah, such as the offerings of various rural kampong homestays. Likewise, it was also difficult for travellers to gather enough information online on what Sabah has to offer. To date, there are at least 1000+ local tourism products and services - but due to lack of proper online presence and challenges faced with booking and payment processes, customers are limited in their travel choices.

Finally, on 02 April 2019, the SabahTravel.com idea was actualised into an online platform, developed with the combined brainpower of a highly experienced in-house global team. The official launch received an overwhelming response, attended by more than 380 local tourism players and accommodation providers including members from Sabah Tourism Board, MATTA, Sabah Parks, government organisations and private companies.
