Whether you're an aspiring diver with zero experience or a travel-savvy adventurer looking to earn two certifications in one trip, this SSI Combined Diving Course in Semporna offers the perfect underwater introduction. Hosted by Infinity Scuba Dive Centre – the first SSI-accredited training facility in Semporna – this comprehensive programme includes both the Open Water and Advanced Adventurer certifications under the internationally recognised SSI system.
The course is fast-tracked for absolute beginners, guiding you from "never dived before" to a certified diver capable of exploring depths of up to 30 metres. With all logistics taken care of, including dive gear and instruction, the convenience is unmatched, especially with accommodation right above the dive centre itself (subject to availability). Perfect for those early-morning starts or drying off post-dive, the setup is tailored for travelling divers.
Choose between two packages: a 6D5N course focused on core training and exploration of Semporna’s spectacular island reefs, or the 7D6N extended option with guaranteed diving at Sipadan, one of the world’s most coveted dive destinations. Annual Temporary Conservation Break at Sipadan Island
To help preserve Sipadan’s world-famous marine ecosystem, the island observes its annual conservation break from 1–30 November each year for a period of natural recuperation.
During this time, diving activities at Sipadan will be paused, but the surrounding island resorts remain fully open — guests can still enjoy beautiful dive sites and island excursions in Tun Sakaran Marine Park.
Diving at Sipadan Island will resume on 1 December.
Important Notes
- Participants must be at least 12 years old to participate in this combined course.
- No prior diving experience required to complete this course. Beginners are most welcomed.
- Participants must download the mySSI app and complete the theory modules before or during your trip.
- No-Fly Rule: After scuba diving, a surface interval of at least 18 hours is required before flying. Recommended interval is 24 hours. Guests are advised to book their departure flights after 12:00PM to ensure safety.
- Participants must complete an SSI medical questionnaire. Those with certain medical conditions may require clearance from a doctor.
- All divers visiting Sipadan must bring a screenshot of their passport and dive license, as phone signal is limited on and around the island.
- Guests are expected to adhere to SSI’s responsible diver guidelines: no touching marine life, no littering, and respect reef conservation rules.
- A mandatory Tourism Tax (TTx) of RM10/night/pax is payable by international guests upon check-in.
- This package is based on a join-in basis of shared guide and transport vehicle. Private guide or tour is available upon request at a reasonable fee. Please inform your tour operator when making the bookings.
- The departure time may vary slightly depending on your hotel location and traffic conditions. We recommend reconfirming with our staff for the exact timing. If your transport is delayed, please contact the number listed on your voucher before arranging alternative options.
- All activities are weather-dependent and may be adjusted to ensure the best possible experience under current conditions.
- Your tour operator reserves the right to alter routes, timetables, itineraries and accommodation should conditions beyond their control render it necessary.
- Effective 1 January 2026, the use of single-use plastic bags is strictly prohibited in all Sabah Parks. This policy is implemented to safeguard the natural environment and protect both marine and forest ecosystems from pollution and long-term harm. Visitors are required to bring their own reusable eco bags when entering any Sabah Parks area.
- All participants must pay attention to all safety briefings and instructions. It is the responsibility of all participants to seek clarification for anything not understood from these briefings.
