Just a 15 minute boat ride from Jesselton Point ferry terminal. My family were accompanied by Jess from Rainbow island resort. Thru out our 2D1N stay, Jess were always there to guide us around the resort. From arranging our sea activities and our meals. My family had a wonderful experience with Rainbow resort team. Everyone were so friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and affordable priced. Good presentation too. My family had a life changing experience esp my wife ling² when we tried scuba diving. The staffs were so patient with us and professionally guided us all the way down to experience scuba diving. Seeing the corals although many were dead but being close and seeing the fishes like Nemo was out of our imagination, that we can do. My son was so happy, he tried it for a 2nd time the next day. We can do kayaking and snorkeling at our own sweet time and as many times we like all free. That's the value of staying in the island with them. Cheeky monkeys were every where to steal food so be careful. During the day time there is no electricity but fret not as the sea breeze is so refreshing and windy. Our rooms Rustic 5 & 6 were facing the sea, I just open d balcony sliding door and lied down on d bed just to relax d strong breeze from d sea. We did parasailing, kayaking, jetsking and scuba diving. A very memorable 2D1N island experience for my family. Thank you to all d staff for being so friendly and helpful. Big shout out to JESS !

Visited Sepanggar Island recently and it was such a great experience! The shipwreck spot was truly amazing perfect for snorkeling and exploring underwater life. The facilities here are surprisingly better than TARP, with cleaner rest areas and well-maintained equipment. The beach was peaceful, water crystal clear, and the staff very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing yet adventurous island getaway near Kota Kinabalu!

Arriving here felt instantly different—you see the dive center first, then goats roaming freely on the beach and even climbing trees. Monkeys dart around trying to snatch food from tourists. It’s much more peaceful than the tourist-packed islands. The snorkeling here was surprisingly much better than on the standard tours. We spent a lovely afternoon walking along the beach, snorkeling, and kayaking. The hotel is secluded and simple but magical, set right by the beach and under a forest canopy. Perfect for nature lovers who want to escape the crowds. With the private beach and animals all around, it feels like your own paradise.

I stayed two days and one night at Rustic Hall — Room 5 or 6 is a must for stunning sunrise and sea views. The island has a peaceful vibe, especially at night when most day-trippers leave. Wildlife is part of the charm: friendly goats, roaming monkeys (watch your food!), and even monitor lizards. The water activities are great — scuba diving, snorkelling, kayaking, seawalking, and more. If you're lucky, you can see Mount Kinabalu from the jetty. Staff were friendly. Overall, a relaxing and memorable island escape.
