We really enjoyed this trip. It's so nice to see an appreciation for the incredible diversity of wildlife here, not just the big mammals. We saw lots of frogs, snakes (from a safe distance), birds, bats, and countless unique invertebrates! The food our host cooked for us was the best we had in Malaysia. So authentic, healthy and delicious! I wasn't sure what to expect of the accommodation, and it was a bit hot the day we arrived which took me some time to adjust since there's no air conditioning, but the next day was much cooler as usual so there's really no need for air conditioning. There's not much protection from mosquitoes, but there's not that many, just bring repellent. We also kept our windows closed at night and they didn't come inside during the day. We didn't end up bringing a mosquito net and didn't need it either, but you could pack one if you're worried. Overall it was so nice to be so immersed in nature here and we're so happy to have chosen this trip!

The trip is a little bit tire but extremely interesting. The local homestay is good and people here are really friendly. There are many interesting creatures in the garden. Both night walk and hiking are worthy. We found lots of species include the amazing horned frog and many highland nepenthes (Nepenthes edwardsiana,Nepenthes lowii and Nepenthes tentaculata). Our guide is fun and good at finding animals. We had lots of fun together.

The Team of 1StopBorneo is incredible! Their knowledge of the rainforest and the wildlife was the best we found during our whole trip through Borneo. They‘re the real experts. They’re publishing own books about wildlife in Tawau. Their enthusiasm for science and environmental protection is inspirational. Besides this they‘re really caretaking Hosts. During our stay they arranged a nice little birthday party with cake for my girlfriend and they gave me good advice, when I was sick and helped me contacting a great doctor! During our 3D2N Tour we saw a lot of crazy insects, spiders, frogs and snakes. We also saw the Rhinozeros hornbill really close and Gibbons and red leaf Monkeys. If you’re interested in nature, please support them. They have great plans and projects for the future. Go there and find out! One thing, that should improve in future are the Bathrooms in the Building.

We spent three nights with 1Stop Borneo and absolutely loved it. The experience was both educational and unforgettable. The location inside Tawau Hills National Park, at the research center, made it extra special, surrounded by nature and wildlife. Our guide Yulinda was excellent – her passion for conservation was inspiring and added so much to the trip. The variety of wildlife we saw was incredible, with highlights including an overnight stay in Inikea with a night safari, and the once-in-a-lifetime chance to see a pangolin at night. That sighting will stay with us forever! A big thank you to Shavez and his team for their warm hospitality and dedication. We’re already looking forward to coming back in the future.
