Overview

This 3D2N safari combines Sandakan's best-known wildlife sites with a stay at Tanini Kinabatangan Lodge, a rustic eco-lodge reachable only by boat and set deep in secondary rainforest. The lodge is as much a part of the experience as the wildlife around it, with comfortable chalets, home-style meals and eco-conscious practices throughout the stay.

The trip starts at Sepilok, where orangutans move through the canopy and sun bears are cared for in a dedicated sanctuary. From there, guests head into the Lower Kinabatangan River Sanctuary, one of Sabah's richest wildlife regions and home to the Borneo Big 5: orangutans, proboscis monkeys, pygmy elephants, hornbills and crocodiles.
