The Try Surfing Experience at Tanjung Aru Beach is a fun and beginner-friendly introduction to surfing in Kota Kinabalu. Designed specifically for first-time surfers, this guided lesson starts with a short safety briefing and basic techniques on land before moving into the water. With gentle waves and close instructor support, participants can learn at a comfortable pace while building confidence on the board.
Led by certified surf instructors, the experience focuses on essential surfing skills such as paddling, balance, and popping up, with step-by-step guidance throughout the session. Important Notes
- This experience is designed for beginners with no prior surfing experience required.
- Participants must be 6 years old and above to join.
- Basic swimming ability and a reasonable level of fitness are recommended.
- Morning and afternoon sessions are available. In case of unsuitable tide or sea conditions, guests may be advised to switch sessions.
- Hotel pick-up and drop-off are not included. Additional surcharges apply for selected outskirt areas, subject to distance and availability.
- Free cancellation is available up to 24 hours before the tour date. Late cancellations or no-shows are fully chargeable.
- Participants with medical conditions such as heart problems, asthma, epilepsy, or pregnancy are not permitted to join for safety reasons.
- Guests should arrive at the meeting point at least 10 minutes before the lesson start time. Late arrivals may be considered no-show with no refund.
- Travel insurance is not included in this package. Guests are encouraged to arrange personal travel insurance before joining the activity.
- This package is based on a join-in basis of shared guide. Private guide or tour is available upon request at a reasonable fee. Please inform your tour operator when making the bookings.
- All activities are weather-dependent and may be adjusted to ensure the best possible experience under current conditions.
- Your tour operator reserves the right to alter routes, timetables, itineraries and accommodation should conditions beyond their control render it necessary.
- All participants must pay attention to all safety briefings and instructions. It is the responsibility of all participants to seek clarification for anything not understood from these briefings.
