General Itinerary

DAY 1
Cycling - Kiulu Countryside Ride (Intermediate)

    • Your tour will commence as we meet and greet you from hotel lobby and depart for a 1hr 15mins+/- drive to Kiulu Countryside.

  • Safety briefing, dos & don’ts and assigning you a bicycle

    This circuit consists of off-road, gradual climbing and steep downhill

    As you ride further into the rural Sabah countryside, enjoy the view of the beautiful mountain ridges, picturesque rolling hills, lush green forests and rocky shorelines surrounding this area

    We will cycle through small riverside villages which are home to the Dusun tribal people as well as jungle, rubber plantations and the Dusun people’s farms

  • As you navigate your mountain bike through the suspension bridge (made up of wooden structures strung up along the river to connect villagers to different villages), it will definitely test your biking skills! Break stop point at Native Dusun House in Tombung Village, let the friendly native host welcome you to the house and light refreshment will be serve here…

    Visit their farm to experience Rubber Tapping and its process

    Share life stories and local delicacies

  • Lunch will be served at the river side cafe

    Optional dip into the river after lunch and transfer to respective hotel after the tour

Things You Should Know

  • The bike guides are all trained in first aid and carry comprehensive first aid kits.
  • Maximum group size is 40 persons at one time for safety reasons.
  • The mountain biking is off the tourist trail so don't expect many facilities on the way.
  • This tour is not recommended for children under 12 years old as it is much physical demanding with uphill and downhill rides, unless participants have good biking skills
  • Participants must have good biking skills, above 150cm height, physically fit and be prepared for physical exertion during the bike ride.
  • This cycling part of this tour is almost totally away from other tour destinations and it is likely that you will not see any other tourists
  • Whilst cycling, if at any time you feel unwell, or need a rest please inform your biking guide immediately.
  • Participants must provide height and weight upon reservation because all bicycles will be adjusted to fit the cyclist comfortably before the start of tour.
