Escape Semporna town for an island stay at Doris Mataking Resort on Mataking Island, approximately 50 minutes by speedboat from Semporna and around 15–20 minutes by speedboat from Tun Sakaran Marine Park. Surrounded by the waters of the Celebes Sea, the resort combines island accommodation with meals, marine activities and convenient access to snorkelling and diving experiences.

Transfer Information

  • Tawau Airport to Semporna: For guests arriving by air, Tawau Airport (TWU) is the main gateway to Semporna. Allow approximately 90 minutes by road from Tawau Airport to Semporna, followed by the speedboat transfer to Mataking Island.
  • Semporna (Jetty Pelancongan) → Doris Mataking Resort: Estimated departure times are 12:00 PM and 3:30 PM
  • Doris Mataking Resort → Semporna (Jetty Pelancongan): Estimated departure times are 10:30 AM and 2:00 PM
  • The speedboat journey between Semporna and Doris Mataking Resort takes approximately 50 minutes.
  • Boat schedules are approximate and may vary depending on operational arrangements, weather and sea conditions.
  • Guests are required to provide their flight details in advance to facilitate transfer coordination.

  • Tourism Tax of RM10 per room per night applies where applicable and is payable separately.
