Ride 180km from KK. Bit isolated but worth the travel. Beach is gorgeous. You stand not only tip of Borneo but also between South China and Sulu Sea. View is damn superb.

We go for sunset & sunrise here. The view is so majestic. Glad that we come here before the tourist came, im pretty sure the place will be crowded. I prefer the sunrise view, because its so calm, not too windy & not crowded. Will go here again next time! Recommended.

Wind, sand and sea. What is there not to like.
The Tip of Borneo is the only place where tourist can see both side of the sea; South China Sea and Sulu Sea.
The site has a round stone globe as a landmark. Several other landmark includes the Northern Most arch monument and a signpost pointing to different cities in the world.

P.s. Access to this place requires a drive through the village road and may not be well lit during the night.

A beautiful place, unearthly landscapes, the confluence of 2 seas (South China Sea and Sulu Sea). And if you arrive at sunset, you will get an unforgettable experience. The road from KK is about 3 hours. But it's worth it ... travel! enjoy it!

Place where gong was made using traditional method.... The local is good

Briefly, Gong is a traditional musical instrument used by the locals, made of metal plates shaped and welded manually by these people.

In my opinion, the entrance fee is cheap to be charged at RM3.00, especially for a traditional place.

There are different types of gongs exhibited and sold, varying in sizes and notes. One of the rack comprises of about 10 gongs, each almost about 6inch-dia wide. Individual gongs are sold at very cheap prices where some are only RM15 and till an extent I'm not aware of. But if you witness their hardwork, you'll appreciate their naive prices without bargain.

There are about 8-10 houses with their own huts fabricating gongs. And there's a shop selling some traditional goods you might be interested as well.

And, at the end of the path is a field with approximately 35 to 40-feet tall Gong with two others which are pretty large as well. 

It may be not be recommendable as a primary destination itself unless you're a dedicated artisan or enthusiast. But it's a worthwhile pitstop if you're making your way along the road to Kota Belud(north) or Kota Marudu(south).

Quaint little village with gong makers left and right. Not much to do there unless there is an event but you can buy local made gongs.

Gong is the most important idiophone in traditional music of Sabah indigenous people and found throughout Sabah state. Gong is usually made of brass or bronze, it produces muffled sounds of a deep tone, when its thick and broad rim was hit by a stick. As the backbone of most music ensembles, gong is played in almost every social event in Sabah.
Gong is more than a musical instrument in old days that have no phone. Besides showing happiness and sadness, gong was also a communication tool to send signals to other villagers up to 5 miles away. The listeners can tell from the rhythm that if it’s a good or bad news. Slow rhythm means an invitation for having a drink. Fast rhythm indicates danger. When someone is dying the beats start slowly at first increase in speed and then on death resume a slow beat.In the past, gong is highly valued and owning gong is a sign of wealth. Villagers would exchange livestock for a gong and gong is one of the common items in bride price. Gong is valued by its age and tone. People that time can recognize the unique sound from individual gong and even tell if a gong has flaw. Therefore, stealing of gong is rare, because owner (and other villagers) will locate his gong once the thief beats it.
