Amazing Borneo

Amazed the Rainforest surrounded in Kinabalu Park. They have many spots for Trekking. Walking along the treks together with family were a memorable journey in the nature. Please wear proper suits (dry-fit) and shoes for safety and comfortable reason while walking on the treks. Also, drinking water and chocolate or snacks, just to ensure our durability. At that moment, we first booked Liwagu Suites, however, after certain circumstances, our booking was upgraded into Nepenthes with complimentary dinner for all of us! Nepenthes is an amazing homestay so we could have a wonderful stay in a luxury manner. Thank you Amazing Borneo!

I am a fast hiker, but the mountain guide would always follow the slowest member of my group, so I seldom saw my guide. I didn’t mind, as other guides were available to help or give directions when necessary. The route was clearly marked as well, so there was no need to worry about losing the trail.

Excellent guided tour of tribal "villages" of North Borneo. Our guide, Noel introduces us to the lifestyle and history of these native tribes very well, and we are glad we had this in our Sabah itinerary.

The fun boat tour was great. The captain stopped us at three different spots, if you have already done the great barrier reef or Maldives or Raja Ampat, the spots are not the same level but still very very nice. We were lucky to see two turtles one black fin shark, a puffer fish and many many other very nice fishes. The lunch stop on the island was also very nice with good food. Our guide was always here for us in case. Only thing, once finish change yourself on the boat as there are no facilities at the pier.

Although pricey - this experience really felt like a once in a lifetime opportunity. The lodge is beautiful, the staff attentive and the guide (Jean) was incredible. We were very lucky to spot Orangutans twice and the various treks were a fantastic way to witness other creatures and immerse yourself in the primary forest. On top of that the food was excellent (thanks Chef Bobby) and the facilities had everything you could want to unwind between activities. Getting there and back was all organised for us in comfortable vehicles. Drinks are very pricey if you do want to enjoy a beer or wine. A highlight for us was meeting the two Drs who gave an excellent talk on Ento-tourism and we were lucky enough to go for a walk with them and find out more about the bug life of Borneo. Experiencing the primary forest alone was enough to make this an unforgettable memory - regardless of seeing any creatures. Danum is truly a remarkable and extremely important ecological zone and I hope it is protected by all of us in the future.
