Amazing Borneo

Our long-awaited stay at The Borneo Rainforest Lodge (BRL) was everything we had hoped for. Despite the bumpy 2.5-hour journey from Lahad Datu, the incredible staff and experience more than compensated. We are especially grateful to Ms. Elizabeth for her guidance, to our wonderfully informative guide Deniel for his expertise and care, and to Mr. Jude Julani, whose extraordinary dedication—from fixing my husband’s shoe to returning my trekking stick to the airport—truly embodies BRL's exceptional hospitality. Our jungle-facing chalet was perfect, and we also want to thank the chef for accommodating special requests. Beyond the lodge, the awe-inspiring Danum Valley conservation area provided an unforgettable immersion into pristine rainforest. I am truly proud that Malaysia is home to such a magnificent and protected natural treasure, preserved thanks to the Sabah state government's foresight. We cannot recommend BRL highly enough for a truly remarkable experience.

We were lucky to be the only ones on this tour (2 people). Our guide, Gavin, was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. He explained the historical significance of each place and also introduced us to different plant species. Due to Poring Hot Springs being closed, Gavin was flexible in our itinerary and took us to eat tarap fruit, buy more fruits in Tamparuli, as well as take us to see the rare Rafflesia flower. Highly recommend for locals and international visitors!

From airport pick up to drop off, the service was tip top. The Premium Deluxe chalet view was superb, we had deers grazing outside the field in front of our room. Canopy walk is well maintained. Amazing crew & staff - thanks to Emmanuel, our guide. Everyone was so friendly & helpful. Paradise in the jungle.

I came in Nov which is combine rain and sunny. I still do my jungle trekking to canopy walks, night safari, night trekking, water rafting and coffin trails trekking. I got 6 leeches attached to me and i got certification for that. 🤓🤭. My dream come through for i have jacuzzi right in the middle of the jungle. 😝

I gave a custom itinerary during booking. And although they said Rafflesia Info Ctr was too far, they were able to find an alternative where we could see it. The driver recommended the order/sequence of sights to see which worked for us. He also drive carefully throughout the day.
