Scuba Schools International (SSI) combines digital learning with instructor-led theory and practical training to help divers build knowledge, skills, experience, and confidence.

Choose from SSI Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, Advanced Specialty, and Specialty courses, or combine courses for a more comprehensive diving experience. Specialty options include Enriched Air Nitrox, React Right, and Diver Stress & Rescue, while combo courses allow you to progress from Open Water to Advanced Open Water or add Nitrox training.

All courses are conducted with SSI Professional Certified Dive Instructors and include the relevant SSI digital learning and certification components. Train in the waters around Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, and take the next step in your scuba diving journey with SSI.

Important Notes

  • Advance Booking: Please book at least 7 days in advance.
  • Minimum Age: Participants must be 12 years old or above. Minimum age may vary for specific courses; please refer to the selected package.
  • No-Fly Period: Allow at least 18–24 hours after diving before flying. Please arrange your flight schedule accordingly.
  • Post-Dive Activities: Allow 18–24 hours after diving before participating in a spa massage or Mount Kinabalu Park day tour.
  • Course Completion: Participants who are unable to complete the required skills within the scheduled course duration may be subject to an additional MYR500/pax/day for 2 dives.
  • Schedule Changes: Dive sites, timings, routes, and activities may be changed due to weather, sea conditions, boat availability, diver performance, or other circumstances beyond the operator's control.
  • Liability Waiver: All participants must understand and sign the required Liability/Release Form before participating in the course.

Participant Requirements & Safety

  • Participants must provide a digital passport-sized photo for registration.
  • Participants with certain medical conditions may be restricted from participating in diving activities and may be required to provide a doctor's medical clearance. Participation remains subject to the operator's approval.
  • Alcohol consumption before or during diving is not recommended.
  • Participants must follow all diving and safety instructions provided by the instructor.
  • Do not touch, tease, or disturb marine life, turtles, or coral reefs.
  • Jellyfish may be present depending on the season. Inform your instructor immediately if stung.
  • Travel insurance covering medical expenses, emergency evacuation/repatriation, personal liability, cancellation, and lost luggage is recommended.

Cancellation Policy

  • Free cancellation: At least 7 days before the tour date.
  • Cancellation within 7 days: 100% charge applies.
  • Cancellation within 24 hours / No-show: 100% charge applies.
  • Booking amendments after payment: Subject to approval and a minimum amendment fee of MYR150 per service.
