This PADI Open Water Diving Course will see you gaining the skills and experience needed to be a certified open water diver all the while exploring the underwater world. General Itinerary

DAY 1
Open Water Dive Course - Classroom Session

  • Session 1

    The first day of the course will be a classroom session, starting off with an informational video, covering Chapter 1 to 3.

  • Short Quiz

    Review key points mentioned in the video, followed with a short quiz.

  • Session 2

    Continue with Chapter 4 to 5 and review key points played in the video with a short quiz in the end.

  • Exam

    Take the exam and pass with flying colours! See you tomorrow out in the water!

DAY 2
Open Water Dive Course - Open Water Dive

  • Meet Up

    It's time to get in the water! Meet up at Sutera Marina jetty / Jesselton Point jetty and proceed for a 10-15 minute boat ride.

  • Pre-Dive

    Start with 10 minutes of swimming and floating without swimming aids. Prepare your diving gear.

  • Confined Dive

    After that, we'll take to shallow waters for Confined Dive 1 - 3 to practice basic diving skills.

  • Dive 1-3

    After Confined Dive, it's time to go for Open Water 1 & 2! Each diving session takes about 40-45 minutes.

  • Lunch

    Enjoy your lunch amid your diving session.

  • Return Transfer

    Finish diving course for the day.

DAY 3
Open Water Diving Course - Open Water Dive

  • Pre-Dive

    It's another day of diving! Today, we'll start off with a 200-metre swimming exercise or a 300-metre swim with snorkel, mask and fins.

  • Dive 4-6

    Continue with Confined Dive 4 - 5 in shallow for more basic exercises.

    End the day with Open Water Dive 3 & 4, going as deep as 18 metres.

  • Lunch

    Your lunch will be provided during the dive lesson.

  • End of Course

    Congratulations! You've completed PADI Open Water Dive Course. Return to Kota Kinabalu and collect your certificate.

Are You Fit to Dive?

  • Before enrolling, ensure that you are 'Fit to Dive'. Download the RSTC Medical Statement or obtain a medical statement from us and read it thoroughly for your own safety.
  • If you answered 'Yes' to any of the questions, we request that you consult with a physician and ask him/her to complete Page 2 (physician column) of the form. You will need to pass this form to your Instructor prior to the dive activity.

Important Notes

  • You are prohibited to dive 18 hours before your flight so please reschedule your flights accordingly.
  • Boat journey to the island may not be suitable for individuals with the follow conditions though not limited to: heart or lung conditions, recent surgery, back or spinal surgery, back problems/injury/fracture, arthritis, osteoporosis or other similar spinal/pelvic diseases. We also do not recommend pregnant women to go on the boat ride as it will be bumpy depending on sea conditions. Kindly consult your physicians before enrolling in this activity if you're having similar issues as mentioned above.
  • You are advised to purchase personal injury and travel insurance prior to your trip.
  • We reserve the right to alter routes, timetables, itineraries and accommodation should conditions beyond our control render it necessary.
  • Departure time is approximate and varies from different hotels due to traffic conditions so please reconfirm with our staff. Should transport be delayed, please call the telephone number as stated on the voucher before making any alternative arrangements.
  • Though it is never expected, tipping is always appreciated.
