Course Schedule

1. Complete the SSI Basic Freediver eLearning before the course.
2. Meet the SSI Freediver Instructor at STAR Marina Jetty and proceed by boat to the Dive Base.
3. Attend the basic freediving theory session.
4. Participate in static apnea and confined-water training up to 5 metres.
5. Enjoy a guided fun freediving session.
6. Upon successful completion of the course, receive your SSI Basic Freediver International Certification eCard and digital logbook via the MySSI App.

Important Notes

• Advance booking: Please book at least 7 days before the tour date.
• Minimum age: Participants must be 10 years old or above. Children aged 9 and below are not permitted.
• Participants are required to provide their full name, contact number, WhatsApp details, country, NRIC/passport number, date of birth, email address, preferred language (English or Chinese), and shoe size (US) for registration.
• Please prepare a digital passport-sized photo for registration.
• All participants must sign a Liability/Release Form before or upon arrival and comply with all diving and safety rules.
• The course operates on a seat-in-coach (SIC) basis and is not a private tour. You will share the trip with guests from different countries.
• Participants with hypertension, heart disease, asthma, epilepsy, or who are pregnant are restricted from participating.
• Participants with recurring medical conditions who wish to participate must provide a doctor's letter of consent. Participation remains subject to the operator's approval.
• If a participant is unable to complete the course or requires additional skills training within the stipulated course duration, an additional fee of MYR 500 per person per day for 2 dives will apply.
• Participants are encouraged to purchase travel insurance covering medical expenses, emergency repatriation, personal liability, cancellation, curtailment, and loss of luggage.
• After the freediving experience, it is highly recommended to wait 18–24 hours before flying, climbing, or visiting Mount Kinabalu Park.
• The operator reserves the right to alter routes, schedules, itineraries, or other arrangements due to weather, traffic, or other circumstances beyond its control.
• Alcohol consumption during the dive or trip is not recommended.
• Do not touch or tease turtles, marine life, or coral reefs. Guests who disregard these guidelines may be required to sit out of subsequent diving or snorkeling activities.
• Jellyfish may be present in the waters, particularly around the middle and/or end of the year. Inform the guide immediately if you are stung.

Additional Information

• Private Charter: A 4–10-seater private vehicle can be arranged for an additional MYR 300 per vehicle. Please request this before the tour date.
• The tour is conducted on a shared basis with other participants.
• Prescription masks are not included and should be arranged separately if required.

Cancellation Policy

• Free cancellation: At least 7 days before the tour date
• Cancellation less than 7 days before the tour: 100% charge
• Cancellation within 24 hours of the tour date or no-show: 100% charge
• Amendments after payment: Subject to approval and a minimum charge of MYR 150 per service amendment
