Overview

UNBOUND: Of Fabric & Bloom is an immersive art exhibition in Kota Kinabalu that invites visitors to explore sculptural fashion, botanical installations, and experiential spaces created by two Sabahan artists. Designed as a multi-realm journey rather than a traditional gallery experience, the exhibition guides visitors through four themed environments — Threshold, Mosswork, Cocoon, and Field of Voices — each offering a different perspective on creative freedom. 

The exhibition blends nature-inspired materials, vibrant textile forms, and reflective storytelling to create spaces you can walk through and emotionally connect with. Visitors will encounter Floratives Studio’s botanical installations celebrating quiet, overlooked beauty, and MOKJY’s bold red Cocoon showcasing her sculptural garment and creative world. The experience culminates in a participatory installation where guests can share their own thoughts on freedom, forming a collective artwork that grows throughout the exhibition.
